Head into each swimming session with clarity on what and how to teach with step-by-step video walkthroughs for all of the 8 missions in your Mission Map, and an additional mission on how to properly bring your child into the pool so your lessons begin with smiles, not tears.
Embark on your child's swimming journey with the instructor's mindset that took me 10+ years of teaching to develop. Learn how to block your child's emotions getting in the way of your progress, how to structure your lessons and ensure your child's swimming success.
Every child can learn how to swim, but every child’s path is different. You'll become a member of our community where you can ask any swimming-related questions, and join in on our bi-weekly coaching calls with me, Jacob, to receive expert advice tailored to you and your child.
With kids this young, forget lectures on the importance of swimming - their language is FUN. Your lessons will be substantially easier if your child has a positive association with the water, so fill your lessons with play, toys and games. Because of this, the skill progression should be much more incremental too.
Whilst older children may be able to get away with dangerous aquatic situations - toddlers will not. They are weak and often cannot even pick their heads up out of the water, so teaching your child water skills like grabbing onto the wall and the almighty ‘Flip and Float’ could be life-saving.
Trying to rush progress will only slow it down and unnecessarily stress both of you out. Lay a strong foundation first, and patiently build from there. Your child should master basic skills like wall hold and holding breath before even thinking about any kind of strokes. Slow and steady wins the race!
Pay once, unlock lifetime access and avoid the recurring expense of traditional swimming lessons for indefinitely long.
Receive exclusive access to the same methodology that we've used to teach children how to swim within weeks.
No need to commute. No schedules to be constrained by. Allow your child to learn
at your own pace and convenience.
Have fun in the water together and strengthen your emotional bond with your child during their precious formative years that will never be again.
However, it didn’t take me long to realize that competitive swimming wasn’t for me. It was boring, monotonous and completely lacking in the fun of swimming that attracted me to take it up as a hobby in the first place.
Upon arriving in Florida, one of the first jobs I landed was a soccer coach position at the YMCA. While working there I realized that they needed assistance in other areas and that I could help fill in those gaps. This led to opportunities in aquatics, lifeguarding, and most important of all - they also needed assistance in teaching swim lessons.
So I jumped at the opportunity to help and parents were so impressed by my approach and their kids’ swimming progress that they began to ask me to teach their children privately.
As time went on my swim lesson side gig turned into about 20 lessons a week. Interestingly enough, one of my clients turned out to be a very prominent businessman - the CEO and Co-Founder of HotelPlanner. He quickly pointed out to me the passion and talent I had and urged me to start my own business teaching swim lessons. So I took a leap of faith and started my own business called Superhero Swim Academy.
Since then, I’ve been able to break through the ceiling of how much positive impact we can have by helping young children learn how to swim. Only a couple of years ago I was maxxed out at 20 lessons a week, but as of today we have over 30 coaches, 7 in-person swimming locations and have taught over 2,000 kids.
To grow our impact beyond Florida, during the COVID lockdown I started posting swimming content on platforms like TikTok, YouTube, Facebook and Instagram where we’ve now built a community of millions of parents worldwide that watch our
videos on a daily basis.
Although our impact was broad, it was not as deep as I’d liked it to be. So now we also help parents who are serious about helping their children learn how to swim do so with our proprietary online programs - the impact of which isn’t limited by geography, and the price of which is a fraction of what parents would typically pay for in-person swimming lessons.
